How long does tear trough filler last?

Because the under-eye moves very little, filler there tends to last well, often from nine to eighteen months. It varies with the product, the amount placed, your metabolism and anatomy, and it fades gradually rather than suddenly.

Is tear trough filler reversible?

Yes. It is hyaluronic acid, which can be dissolved with hyaluronidase. This matters particularly in the under-eye, where filler can occasionally hold water or settle unevenly, so being able to adjust it is a genuine safeguard.

Does it hurt, and is there downtime?

The area is numbed first, and using a cannula helps keep it comfortable and reduces bruising. Some swelling, tenderness or a small bruise is common in the first days and settles over about two weeks, when the final result is clear.

What is Tear Trough Filler?

The tear trough is the groove that runs from the inner corner of the eye along the top of the cheek. As it deepens, it casts a shadow that reads as darkness or tiredness.

Tear trough filler places a small amount of soft hyaluronic acid gel into that hollow, restoring a little support and smoothing the transition between the lower eyelid and the cheek.

How it works.

Filler is placed deep and conservatively, usually with a blunt cannula rather than a needle, to reduce bruising and protect the delicate vessels of the under-eye.

The result is visible immediately and settles over about two weeks as any initial swelling resolves. Because it is hyaluronic acid, it can be dissolved if ever needed.

Step 01

Your consultation

Your treatment

We begin by applying a strong numbing cream and talking through the plan while it takes effect. When you are ready, a small amount of filler is placed conservatively, usually with a fine cannula to keep the area comfortable and reduce bruising. We never overfill; the under-eye holds very little, and restraint is what keeps the result natural. The appointment takes up to forty-five minutes.

Step 03

Your aftercare

You may notice mild swelling or the occasional small bruise, which usually settles within a few days. The under-eye can take a little longer than other areas to settle fully, so the final result is best judged at two weeks. We check in with you the morning after, stay in touch as it settles, and send you home with a full aftercare guide and, where needed, arnica and an ice pack.
